illustrator visits students
Children's book illustrator Tim Bowers visited recently with students and members of the staff at Clintonville Academy.
The Troy native, a graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design, has illustrated more than 25 books, including "First Dog," a new children's story inspired by the Obama family's Portuguese water dog.
A resident of Granville, Bowers previously worked for Hallmark in Kansas City, Mo., where he helped create the Shoebox line of cards.
"After sharing his own childhood drawings, demonstrating his sketching technique and describing the steps from illustration ideas to printed book, Tim signed books featuring his work for Clintonville Academy students," according to a school spokeswoman.
The private school, founded in 1978, is located on Indianola Avenue.
