A fundraising event for the Columbus Civic Theater is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 7, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Dubbed "Dramapalooza!," it will be held in the theater parking lot at 3837 Indianola Ave. Live music, "scene snippets," dance and food will be featured throughout the day.

Local bands Grassahol, Saintseneca, Roger Lehman, Endless Recess, Timid Blue, Halfway Home and Friends and Flytown Soul Review are scheduled to perform.

"Music is appropriate for all ages," according to the announcement.

Actors from the troupe will be performing scenes and monologues from previous shows. There will also be an encore performance of some of the pieces from the dance show "Duo/ets."

Admission is $10 for ages 12 and up and $5 for children under 12. The ticket price includes one drink and one raffle ticket.

The mission of Columbus Civic Theater, a nonprofit organization, "is to inspire, inform, entertain and engage central Ohio audiences through professional productions of classical, modern and established contemporary plays," the announcement stated.

Since forming in 2008, the theater has staged such works as "The Fantastiks," "Candida" and "Love's Labor's Lost."

"Dramapalooza!" is sponsored by Hill Distributing Co., Chipotle and LYP Jewelry.
