Clintonville Area Commission District 9 representative D Searcy and her husband Jim Allen will host a community potluck at their home on Sunday, Aug. 29, to build on the closeness developed when neighbors worked together to prevent a COTA bus turnaround from being built in their vicinity.

Clintonville Area Commission District 9 representative D Searcy and her husband Jim Allen will host a community potluck at their home on Sunday, Aug. 29, to build on the closeness developed when neighbors worked together to prevent a COTA bus turnaround from being built in their vicinity.

"We want to maintain the community spirit that we began in July," Searcy wrote in announcing the 3 to 7 p.m. gathering at 287 Charleston Ave.

"All Charleston Avenue neighbors are invited as well as everyone for whom I have e-mail addresses who live in our area," she said. "Please bring your neighbors. The more the merrier.

Searcy and Allen will provide tables and a grill for those who want to bring something to cook, as well as soft drinks, water, ice and coolers.

Those attending are asked to bring chairs along with a dish to share and table service.

"Also bring any musical instruments and games you'd like to share," Searcy wrote.
