On Oct. 31, the Central Ohio Chapter of Ohio Young Birders Club will be building a bird-feeding station at Indianola K-8 School in Clintonville.

This is the first community service project for the chapter and it is expected to benefit the birds, the school, and the community for years to come," according to adviser Gerry Brevoort.

The project will be part of an Outdoor Education Center and School Garden being created at Indianola K-8.

"It will be years in the making, but eventually it will include a prairie area, native plantings, a butterfly garden, water reclamation, composting and even an edibles garden where students will grow their own snacks for their after-school program," Brevoort said in a news release.

Those interested in participating in the project at 251 E. Weber Road should wear work clothes and be ready to help assemble the feeding station, install it in the ground, mulch the area beneath it and then set it up with suet, seed and peanuts.
