The Columbus Civic Theater will present Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol this holiday season, with the premiere set next Thursday, Nov. 29.
Performances of the troupe’s version of the Dickens holiday classic will be given at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 23.
The Columbus Civic Theater is located at 3837 Indianola Ave.
The version is adapted by Ben Gorman directly from the original novella by Dickens that was published in 1843.
Using multiple narrators and elements of Storyteller Theater, our version of A Christmas Carol is a perfect blend of faithfulness to the script and inventive theatricality,” artistic director Richard J. Albert said in an announcement.
Alexandra Moss will direct the production. Local actors in the cast include Todd Taylor, Austin Frias, Britt Kline, Galen Roth, Justin Eberhard, Vern Hendrick, Danny Cipparrone, Ben Brown, Samantha Hunter and Azure Stephens, with Doug Montanaro in the lead role as Ebenezer Scrooge.
Ticket prices range from $17.50 to $20 and are available at columbuscivic.org, by phone at 614-447-7529 and at the box office prior to performances.
