The Clintonville Education Committee, in conjunction with the North Broadway Children's Center, will sponsor the eighth annual elementary and middle school fair from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, Jan. 17.

The event will take place at the North Broadway United Methodist Church, 48 E. North Broadway. Families whose children will be entering elementary school or middle school this year are encouraged to attend.

The fair will feature representatives from schools traditionally attended by Clintonville-area students, including Calumet Christian School, Clinton Elementary School, Clintonville Academy, Colerain Elementary School, Columbus Spanish Immersion Academy, Dominion Middle School, Ecole Kenwood, Fifth Avenue International K-8, Graham Primary School, Graham Expeditionary Middle School, Immaculate Conception School, Indian Springs Elementary School, Indianola Informal K-8, Our Lady of Peace School, St. Joseph Montessori School and the Wellington School.

Representatives from the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Clintonville-Beechwold Resources Center, the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts also will attend.

Families will have the opportunity to visit school booths to talk to representatives from each school. A representative from each school will make a brief presentation.

"For many parents, deciding where to send their child to school is very difficult," Clintonville Education Committee chairwoman Susan Gaunce said in a statement. "The education fair provides parents an opportunity to make a more informed decision about the excellent educational choices in our area."

The fair will be canceled in the event of a Level 3 snow emergency.
