New Fifth Third bank branch trying for LEED certification

Fifth Third Bank of Central Ohio last week announced the new Clintonville banking center at 4080 N. High St. is pursuing recognition under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards set by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The branch opened April 18 and held a grand-opening ceremony late last week.

"The Clintonville banking center was designed and constructed based on our experiences opening green branches in many of our affiliates," said Jordan Miller, president and CEO of Fifth Third Bank of central Ohio, in an announcement. "Our company is committed to acting in an environmentally sustainable manner and LEED is helping us design and build better banking centers."

Katie Butler is manager of the recently opened branch.

Fifth Third also has a branch at 3580 N. High St. and a BankMart inside the Kroger store at Graceland Shopping Center.
