Rabies vaccinations for dogs, cats slated
Franklin County Public Health and the Columbus Academy of Veterinary Medicine are holding a low-cost rabies immunization clinic for dogs and cats from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Franklin County Dog Shelter, 4340 Tamarack Blvd. The cost is $5 per pet, cash only, with no appointment is necessary.
All dogs and cats must be on a leash or in an animal carrier.
Pets between 3 months and 1 year of age or pets that have never been vaccinated will receive a one-year rabies tag. Pets over 1 year old with proof of a prior rabies vaccination will receive a three-year rabies tag. Proof of prior vaccination includes either a rabies vaccination certificate or a Franklin County/Columbus rabies tag. Pets of those who are unable to provide proof of a prior vaccination will receive a one-year rabies tag.
