North Broadway chuch hosts homeless panel

Eat-Learn-Live, a program on homelessness, begins Oct. 30 at North Broadway United Methodist Church, 48 E. North Broadway.

The program will be held from 7 t o 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 and Nov. 6, 13 and 20. Cost of a light supper to be served at 6:30 p.m., is $3. Childcare is available.

Topics include "Current Interventions in Homelessness," featuring Beth Fetzer-Rice, director of Social Services for The Salvation Army; "Housing Policy," led by Jeff Caswell; "Understanding Poverty," led by Beth Weisbrod, director of United Methodist Community Ministries; and "What Does All This Mean for the Church?" a panel discussion featuring Pastor Peter, Judy Skinner, Mariellen Miller and Beth Stewart-McGee.

No reading is required, but participants are invited to check out the book Bridges Out of Poverty by Ruby Payne, Philip DeVol and Terie Dreussi Smith.
