Spaghetti Monster dinner, auction set

Sunday October 27, 2013 9:27 PM

The Columbus Coalition of Reason (Columbus CoR) and the First Unitarian Universalist Church (FUUC) will host the second annual Flying Spaghetti Monster Benefit Dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the First UU church, 93 W. Weisheimer Road in Clintonville.

Entertainment will include live music ranging from solo piano to a full band. Interspersed with the musical numbers will be brief comments by members of ColumbusCoR groups on building community among nonbelievers and doing good without God.

A variety of supervised games and activities will be available for children.

Last year, 136 people attended the first Flying Spaghetti Monster Benefit Dinner and donated $1,800 and more than 360 pounds of canned goods.

Admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for children under 14, with proceeds going to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. In addition, canned and boxed goods will be collected for the Foodbank.

Guests also may participate in a silent auction for handmade pieces by local artists and a raffle for items donated by community members and local businesses.
