Church concert set for Dec. 15

Thursday December 12, 2013 10:23 PM

The Holiday Concert of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15.

The family friendly event is designed to get audiences into the holiday spirit. The church is at 93 W. Weisheimer Road in Clintonville behind the Panera.

All four choirs of the church will take part in the celebration: Karen Madden will direct Peace Pals, the children's choir; Rising Voices, the teen choir; and Spirit of Life, the adult chamber choir, in humorous variations on traditional Christmas pieces such as "Jingle Bells," "White Christmas," "The Nutcracker" and "Deck the Halls."

Brandon Moss directs Chalice Choir, a large adult choir that will present "A Ceremony of Carols," a melodic set of 10 original carols based on old English texts by contemporary British composer Benjamin Britten.

The concert is open to the public. No admission will be charged and child care will be provided.
