Clintonville: Computer, cash stolen from Calumet Street home

A $1,000 laptop computer, $210 in coins, $120 in cash and a backpack valued at $80 were taken during a burglary at an apartment on Calumet Street, reported at 10 p.m. Jan. 18.

The victim told Columbus police the break-in took place between 10 a.m. and around 9:30 p.m. that day.

In other recent Clintonville-area police reports:

* An electric bicycle valued at $750 was reported stolen from the attached garage of a home on Walhalla Road. The crime took place between 8 p.m. Jan. 15 and just after midnight Jan. 16, according to the homeowner.

* A Tibet Road man said he woke up Jan. 9 to discover his vehicle's window had been smashed out in an apparent break-in attempt.

The victim, who said the interior of the vehicle was in such disarray that he could not tell if anything was missing, told officers the incident occurred between 11 p.m. Jan. 8 and 6 a.m. the next day.

* A West California Avenue man contacted police at 10 p.m. Jan. 13 to say he felt threatened by another individual.

The victim said he has been receiving numerous calls and text messages from the other man dating back to Nov. 1 that he considered to be threatening, but was prompted to file a report after the suspect banged on his door earlier that evening.
