The Fifth Third Bank branch at 4080 N. High St. was robbed at gunpoint of an undisclosed amount of cash at 9:35 a.m. May 3. According to Columbus police reports, the male suspect entered the bank and approached the counter, brandishing a handgun. After obtaining money from a teller, the man fled on foot.
In other recent Clintonville-area incident reports from the Columbus Division of Police:
• A West Kenworth Road resident discovered that his rear door had been smashed open and his home burglarized and ransacked at 11:50 a.m. May 5. The victim said the break-in took place between 11 and 11:50 that morning. Jewelry valued at $3,000 was stolen. Damage to the back door was estimated at $200.
• A Montrose Way man contacted police at 9:19 p.m. May 6 to report his home was broken into and a laptop computer valued at $1,924 was stolen. The victim said the burglar entered through a window on the east side of the house and left through the front door, damaging both the window and the door in the process.
