Band chosen to visit Carnegie includes local 'all-stars'

Student members of the award-winning All-Star Brass and Percussion were invited to make the band's second appearance at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

They were asked to join other world-class youth ensembles from Germany, Thailand, and California for Carnegie Hall's inaugural "Sounds of Summer" International Music Festival June 17.

Members of the band include Whetstone High School students Colin McCoy, Kevin McCoy and Andrew Carringer as well as Columbus Alternative High School student Jacob Diaz.

All-star members represent approximately 40 schools from eight central Ohio counties. They must be members in good standing of their school band and be nominated to audition by their school band directors or private instructors.
