Let's party like they did in 1877.

Tickets for the final official Delaware County bicentennial event, the Presidential Ball, now are on sale.

The event will be held in Ohio Wesleyan University's Benes Room on Oct. 4, the birthday of Rutherford B. Hayes, who was born in Delaware and became the 19th U.S. president.

Local historian Ed Lentz will give a tribute to Hayes during the ball, which will run from 6 to 11 p.m.

Semi-formal or period attire is requested. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes. In Full Swing, a 16-piece swing band, will provide music.

A limited number of tickets are available for $30 each. The price includes dinner, beverages and a dessert buffet.

Tickets can be purchased at Beehive Books, 25 N. Sandusky St., and the Delaware County Recorder's Office, 140 N. Sandusky St.

To purchase tickets by mail, pick up a form at the main branch of the Delaware County District Library, 84 E. Winter St., or print a form at the Delaware County bicentennial Web site, www.dela wareco200.com.
