Eisenhower, the granddaughter of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, will speak about America's need for an efficient, effective national electricity grid. Her appearance is part of OWU's 2009 Sagan National Colloquium, "Renewing America for a Global Century: From Theory to Practice at Ohio Wesleyan University."

The program, which is free and open to the public, will help kick off OWU's 2009 Homecoming and Family Weekend.

Kori Schake, a senior research fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University and associate professor of International Security Studies at the U.S. Military Academy, will discuss "Managing American Hegemony: American Power in a Time of Dominance" at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, in the Benes Rooms of the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Ave.

A murder is about to be committed, but who will it be, and where will it happen?

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Ohio Wesleyan University will present Lucille Fletcher's mystery-thriller "Night Watch" beginning Oct. 2 on Chappelear Drama Center's main stage.

Directed by Elane Denny-Todd, the play includes more than 40 OWU students in its cast and crew. Scenic design is by theatre professor D. Glen Vanderbilt Jr., with lighting by Chad Knutson and costumes by Jacqueline Shelley. The stage manager is OWU junior Rachel Spetrino of Medina.

Playwright Fletcher also wrote "The Hitchhiker" and "Sorry, Wrong Number."

"Night Watch" will be performed at 8 p.m. on Oct. 2, 3, 9 and 10 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 11. Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for OWU employees, non-OWU students and seniors. Admission is free for OWU students with a valid ID.

The Ohio Wesleyan University Department of Music Faculty Gala will be presented at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, in Gray Chapel.

This is the 7th annual faculty gala concert for the department of music.

Admission is free and tickets are not required.

Performing faculty members will include: Korine Fujiwara, violin; Nancy Gamso, clarinet; Diego Fainguersch, cello; Cameron Bennett, piano; Jason Hiester, tenor; and Mariko Kaneda, piano; David Freedy, tuba; Mariko Kaneda, piano; Marilyn Nims, mezzo soprano; and the Carpe Diem String Quartet (Ensemble in Residence).
