The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium's conservation center, the Wilds, will hold two events for nature photographers.

The Avian Photography Weekend, slated for May 21-23, is for photographers 18 and older and will include a safari to search for migrating birds. The weekend event is $299 and includes lodging, meals and a photo session with Jerry and Barbara Jividen of Naturally Wild Photo Adventures.

A single-day photo shoot will be available from 1 to 3:30 p.m. May 23. It will offer photographers a view of live raptors for $99. The fee includes instruction from Naturally Wild Photo Adventures.

The Wilds, located in Cumberland, Ohio, is one of the largest conservation centers in North America and houses rare and endangered species from around the world.

Author Mitch Albom will present a talk based on his current bestseller, "Have a Little Faith," at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at Congregation Tifereth Israel, 1354 E. Broad St.

Albom is also the author of "Tuesdays With Morrie" and "The Five People You Meet in Heaven." "Have a Little Faith" is the story of Albom's friendship with an aging rabbi in New Jersey and a recovered drug addict who serves as pastor of a church in Detroit.

General admission tickets are $45, with student tickets priced at $15. Patron tickets, which include a dessert reception, begin at $125.

A community education program for colon cancer survivors and their families will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Ohio State University Eye and Ear Institute, 915 Olentangy River Road.

Dr. Mark Bloomstein and Dr. Tanios Bakaii-Saab of the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center will discuss the latest surgical options and oncology updates. The program will also include information about stress reduction, symptom management, nutrition, hereditary colon cancer and prevention.

Pilates and Tai Chi demonstrations will be offered. Brunch and lunch will be provided.
