Baby-Care Basics, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 2. Course covers preparing a home for a baby, feeding, diapering, bathing, umbilical cord care, when to call the doctor and infant safety. Cost is $30 per couple. American Sign Language, 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 5. Six-week series for ages 12 and up is basic introduction taught by instructor with a master's in deaf education. Cost is $50 per person. "Arthritis Management" with Nick Turkas of the Arthritis Foundation, Central Ohio Chapter, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 8. Turkas will discuss managing arthritis through medications, exercise, surgery and complementary therapies. 15-minute seated massage, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9.Licensed therapist will relax tense shoulders and necks. Cost is $12 per person; appointments required.Kid Kwon Do, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., beginning Saturday, Sept. 11. Six-week series in basic self-defense for ages 6-10. Cost is $45. Tae Kwon Do, 10:30 a.m. to noon, beginningSaturday, Sept. 11. Six-week series for ages 11 and older. Regimen involves practical self-defense techniques that increase one's fitness level, self-confidence and personal discipline. Cost is $45. Breastfeeding Preparation class, 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13. Lactation, breast physiology and positioning are covered. Class should be completed two to six weeks before due date. Cost is $25 per couple. Sunbury Diabetes Peer Support Group, 7:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13 at Sunbury United Methodist Church, Room 7, 100 W. Cherry St., Sunbury. National Kidney Foundation program director Danielle Estep will present the program "Do You Know Your Kidney Score?" Fibromyalgia support group, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13. Those who have fibromyalgia, family, friends and medical community encouraged to attend. Free. Tai Chi, Tuesday, Sept. 14, 6 to 9 p.m. The six-week series is for ages 12 and older and teaches graceful, low movements that relax and strengthen body and mind. Cost is $45. Living Well with Diabetes, 6 to 8 p.m., Sept. 14-16. Three-day series focuses on nutrition, glucose monitoring, hyper and hypoglycemia, meal planning and medications. No cost is involved, but re-registration is required. R.S.V.P. (Really Special Visit for Parents), 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15. Includes a free tour of the Grady Birthplace and discussion of admitting procedures, birthing options, sibling opportunities and the celebration meal, along with information about health, safety and care of a new baby.
