Global dance event EarthDance will return to Ohio Wesleyan University on Sept. 19.

The event will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. in the Benes Rooms of the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Ave. Admission, which includes dinner, is $5 at the door.

The theme is "Embracing All Traditions." Proceeds will benefit Global Village Collection, a fair-trade, nonprofit, volunteer-staffed retail store at 37 N. Sandusky St. in Delaware.

EarthDance, held in more than 200 locations in more than 50 countries, promotes peace by supporting humanitarian causes through music and dance. A diverse cross-section of musical genres is featured, including world music, jazz, conscious hip-hop, folk and reggae.

EarthDance will include performances by DJ Darby Park, drummer Wahru Cleveland, Bellydance Columbus members, Anne Tull with fire dancing, Israeli folk dancing, Luke the Juggler, Dances of Universal Peace and the EarthDance Prayer for Peace.

Comedian Black
to appear at OWU
Comedian Lewis Black will perform at Ohio Wesleyan University on Oct. 6.

Black, a Grammy Award-winning author, playwright and actor, will take his "In God We Rust" tour at 7 p.m. at OWU's Gordon Field House, 105 S. Sandusky St. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Black, a frequent guest on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," has also appeared on "Larry King Live," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "The Late Show with David Letterman." He is known for exposing the absurdities of life and contemporary politics. His performance is rated PG-13 for language.
