Senior Citizens Inc. of Delaware County has announced that voting for new board members will begin at 1:30 p.m. and continue until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, after the midday potluck at the Center for Older Adults, 800 Cheshire Road.

Senior Citizens Inc. of Delaware County has announced that voting for new board members will begin at 1:30 p.m. and continue until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, after the midday potluck at the Center for Older Adults, 800 Cheshire Road.

Candidates will be on hand at the potluck.

Voting will continue through Nov. 15 at both the Center for Older Adults and at Senior Citizens Inc.'s 420 Park Ave. location. Voting hours at the Park Avenue center are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. At the Center for Older Adults, voting will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Nov. 13.

Gallery to host photo exhibit

Corner Framing and Gallery in Delaware will host an exhibit of Sydney Schardt's photography during November.

An opening reception will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5.

About 30 photographs make up the exhibit. Most are objects photographed at very close range, resulting in what a news release described as "surprising, dynamic images."

Schardt's work has won several awards, including first place in The Ohio Show 2008. It was chosen for inclusion in the Roy G Biv Image Ohio9 collection, in the Riffe Gallery 2010 and for various regional shows. She also is owner/director of the Sanctuary for the Arts in Sunbury.

Veterans Day parade scheduled for Nov. 7

The Delaware County Veterans Day parade planning committee has announced that the parade will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7.

"Honor-Duty-Country" is this year's theme.

Vietnam War veterans will serve as the parade's grand marshals.

The parade is slated to begin near the intersection of South Sandusky Street and Wilmer Street and proceed north to Pennsylvania Avenue, then west on Pennsylvania to the fairgrounds. Veterans and parade participants are invited to the fairgrounds coliseum after the parade for refreshments, including hot dogs, chili from Wendy's and cookies from Delaware Bible Church.

Organist to play in Nov. 4 program

The Nov. 4 First Thursday program at Asbury United Methodist Church will feature John Schuder, organist at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grove City.

The program will run from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Beverages will be provided and tables will be available for those who wish to eat their bagged lunches during the concert.

Schuder recently relocated to central Ohio after a long career in church music and teaching in New York City, where he served on the faculties of both the Manhattan School of Music and Columbia University Teachers College.

Schuder also was minister of music at Scarsdale Congregational Church from 1972 to 2006, after which he served as organist and choir director at NYC's Interchurch Center.

Florist's program to benefit DCDL

"Bouquets for Books," sponsored by Connells Maple Lee Flowers & Gifts, is back.

From Nov. 8 through 13, Connells Maple Lee will collect new children's books for the Delaware County District Library, Bexley Public Library and Southwest Public Libraries.

The florists' customers will receive a free bouquet for each new children's book they donate to the program.

Bouquets are limited to three per family per visit while supplies last. Used books will not be accepted.
