The third annual lighting of the Ron Hudler Memorial Christmas Tree will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5 at Ohio Wesleyan University.

The free outdoor event is open to the public. Cocoa, cookies and caroling led by OWU's female a cappella group Pitch Black will be featured.

The Hudler tree is north of Edwards Gymnasium, 105 S. Sandusky St., near the intersection of South Sandusky Street and Park Avenue. Hudler, a 1956 OWU graduate who died in 2008, operated one of the nation's largest Christmas tree farms with his three sons. To honor his memory, Hudler's family donated to OWU a 14-foot spruce tree from Hudler Carolina Tree Farms. Hudler's twin, Don, also was a member of the class of 1956.
