The Scioto River was receding March 4, but two roads were still closed because of high water.

The Delaware County Emergency Management Agency said state Route 257 was closed near Hoskins Road, and River Road was closed at several spots in Radnor Township. Water was close to the edge of Klondike Road, but it was still open.

Heavy rains last week sent the river rising. It peaked at about a foot above flood stage before starting to receded. EMA spokesman Jesse Carter said heavy rains forecast for March 5 and 6 might send the river rising again.

The Olentangy River is downstream from the Delaware Dam, which is used for flood control. As a result, the Olentangy has been largely unaffected.

Anyone facing a flood-related emergency should call 911 for help. Motorists should never drive into standing water.
