The Summer Reading Club, "One World, Many Stories," will run from June 13 through Aug. 6 for kids up to 11 years old. For every hour children read , they will earn a Library Buck, up to a maximum of 10 Library Bucks. Children who read or listen for the maximum 10 hours have a chance to win one of the grand prize drawings, which include tickets for a Hocking Valley Scenic Railway ride; two Deluxe Splatterpacks to Splatter Park (ages 10 and up); two tickets to a Columbus Crew game and more.

The Young Adult Reading Club also runs June 13 through Aug. 6 and is for readers ages 12 through 18. The theme is "You Are Here." YAs earn four points for each book read, three points for every audio heard and 1 point for each magazine read. Incentives will be given for each four points earned, up to a maximum of 4 incentives awarded.

Prizes include Splatter Park passes; a $25 Aeropostale gift certificate; and tickets to the Dublin Irish Festival, the Renaissance Festival, BalletMet or Tecumseh. Each participant who logs 16 points will be entered for a chance to win an iPod Touch 8GB.

The Community Library Friends will sponsor a Used Book Event from noon on Thursday, June 30 through 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, at the library. The hours of the event are concurrent with library hours. For more information, call the library.

Dog Tales: Read with a Furry Friend, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., June 22, 29 and July 6 or July 13, 20, 27 and Aug. 3. Readers ages 5 through 12 may register for a 10-minute slot in one of the two sessions. Registration is required. Free.

American Girls: Kanani, 2:30 to 4 p.m., Monday, June 20. American Girls fans: bring your mom, aunt or grandma for Hawaiian-themed crafts and activities.

LEGO-palooza, 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 21. Kids ages 5 to 8 are invited to play games, enter a building challenge and create a masterpiece. Registration is required and is under way. Free.

Teen Game Days, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, beginning June 21 and ending July 26. Play games, chat with friends and munch on snacks. No registration required.

Preschool dance classes, six-week series designed for ages 3 and 4. Two sessions available: 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays or 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning on June 22. Ballet slippers are preferred but not necessary.

International Food Competition, 4 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, for children ages 9 through 12. Check out a cookbook or go to the Internet for "the world's best recipe" in the categories of main dish or dessert. Make the dish and let the taste testers decide while learning about food customs and manners around the world. Registration is required and is open. The contest is free, though entrants must provide their own recipe ingredients.

Kids' Game Day, 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 5. For ages 5-8. Fun with board games and Wii. Registration required and under way. Free.

Baby sitters training course, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 25. For 11- to 15-year-olds. Covers handling emergencies, choking in infants and children, accident prevention, understanding instructions and more. Bring a sack lunch. Cost: $55 per participant. Registration required by June 15.

Go, Diego, Go! Party, 1 to 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, for children ages 4 to 6. Diego-style fun! Registration is required and is under way. Cost is $2 per child.
