Local residents earning bachelor's degrees were Renee Ellis and Samantha Koban, both of Delaware, and Catherine Schubert of Sunbury.

Cassandra Zeeb of Galena graduated from the University of Cincinnati during winter 2011 commencement ceremonies.
She received a bachelor's degree.

The University of Cincinnati has announced its winter 2011 dean's list.

Area residents named to the list from Delaware were Kelsi Bryan, Brittany Catania, Emily Eyerman, Rachel Wurm, Bittany Ziegelmeyer, Christopher Ziegelmeyer and Lisa Zimmer. Also named to the list were Galena residents Christian Eichler, Jay Irwin, Caitlin Jones and Zachary Wagner, as well as Sunbury residents Benjamin Bauer, Michael Carone, John Clay and Sarah Sturges.
Haley Morris received a bachelor of arts degree during May 15 commencement ceremonies at Denison University.

Morris, a Columbus Academy graduate, will pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching program at Belmont University in Nashville.

She is the daughter of David and Rebecca Morris of Delaware and the granddaughter of Robert Morris of Sunbury.

The following students received degrees during winter commencement ceremonies at Ohio University: Cullen Rea, Leah Demain and Peter Locascio, all of Delaware.

The following students were named to the winter dean's list at Ohio University: Jane Meyer, Lauren Balazs, Philip Firkins, Michael Garrett, Courtney Lefebvre, Amanda Roden, Emily Weithman and Samantha Clark.

The University of Findlay has announced the names of students who achieved at least a 3.5 GPA and were included in the fall 2010 dean's list.

Meghan Leedy of Delaware and Emily McMains of Galena were named to the list.

Deon Cromwell of Galena graduated from the University of Cincinnati during fall 2010 commencement ceremonies.

Cromwell earned a bachelor's degree.

The University of Akron has announced the names of students who achieved at least a 3.25 GPA and were named to the fall 2010 dean's list.

From Sunbury, they are Cristin Cotter, Rachel Missman, Savannah Roof and Emily Stranges.

Gavin Kelly of Delaware and Benjamin Mason of Galena were also included in the listing.

Galena residents named to the list were Colleen Arnett, Charles Gioffre, Caitlin Jones, Christopher McVeigh and Zachary Wagner.

Sunbury residents named to the list were Michael Carone, John Clay, Ann McKenzie, Sarah Sturges and Terry Vanbaalen.

Heather Stuff of Galena named to the Hope College dean's list for the first semester of the 2010-2011 academic year.

To be named to the list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester.

Joseph Sumner of Delaware earned a grade point average of 3.776 and was named to the fall semester dean's list at William Penn University.

Margaret Payne of Delaware earned a grade point average of at least 3.4 and was named to the fall semester dean's list at Wake Forest University.

Payne, a Hayes High School graduate, is the daughter of Ada and Kermit Payne.
