• Gentle Yoga classes, from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26 and evening “Yoga for Beginners and Beyond” classes, from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 19 and 26 are offered at the library. Instructor is Leslie Myers. Cost is $5 per class for teens and adults. Pay at class.

• 1st Thursday Book Club, 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6. Book to be discussed is Michael Chabon’s award-winning “The Yiddish Policemen’s Union.” The book for the Nov. 3 meeting is “The Lost Quilter” by Jennifer Chiaverini.

• Haunted Library, for children ages 6 to 10, 7 to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8. (Please note: Tickets are required and will be issued according to three designated time intervals.) Suggested donation of $1 per person. For children ages 2-5, “non-scary” games and activities will be available. Children (and parents) are encouraged to come in costume.

• Visit a One-Room Schoolhouse, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13. Join us at the Cornell School in Johnstown and experience history first-hand. For children in second grade and older accompanied by an adult. Cost is $2. Registration is required; space is limited.

• Reading your credit report: Speakers with Consumer Credit Counseling of Ohio, 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18. How to read, fix and improve your credit report. Free, though registration is requested. Program is part of the Financial Literacy Series.

• Ghosthunting Ohio with speaker John Kachuba, 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 10. For ages 12 and up. Free, but pre-registration is required.

• Wall Street Wizards, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 24. For ages 12 through 18. Invest wisely and end up with the most (pretend) money. A representative of the Sunbury Edward Jones branch will talk briefly about the stock market, and then participants will decide which stocks to buy with their “library bucks.” The value of each participant’s stocks will be calculated on Nov. 22 and the top “investors” will be announced Nov. 23. The top three Wall Street Wizards will receive an iTunes gift card ($50 for first place; $25 for second; and $15 for third). Registration deadline is Oct. 20. Free.

• Dog Tales, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. Chance, a lab/retriever mix, will be on hand to listen to stories. The program is designed for beginning or struggling readers, ages 5 to 12. Registration is required. Each participant will be given a 10-minute slot. Free.

• Right on the Money, 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, family program with a money theme. See a cool coin trick, do dollar-bill origami and other activities. For children age 5 and up. Registration required; free.

• Manga and Anime 101, 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. No class will be held in October. Register at any time by calling the library.

• Tuesday Evening Knitters, 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesdays, for knitting and conversation.

No registration is required and siblings are welcome at the following free weekly programs:

• Babytime, ages 0-23 months, 9:30 a.m. on Mondays. Songs, rhymes and books for infants and toddlers with an accompanying adult.

• Time for Twos, 2-year-olds, 9:45 a.m. on Tuesdays. Books, songs, fingerplays and other activities for children accompanied by an adult.

• Wiggles and Giggles, 3-year-olds, 9:45-10:15 a.m. on Thursdays. Songs, games, crafts and books about colors, numbers, letters and shapes.

• Laugh and Learn, ages 4-6, 10:30-11 a.m. on Thursdays. Books, songs, games and crafts that emphasize early phonics, math, science and critical thinking skills.
