Residents may face arson charges after couch fire
Delaware
A large fire, fueled by a couch, chair and a large quantity of uncut wood, was discovered in the 200 block of East Winter Street at 11:22 p.m. July 8. Delaware police reports said nearby residents may be charged with arson.
A 20-year-old man was arrested for assault, criminal damaging and disorderly conduct after he reportedly attacked another man outside his home in the 100 block of Persimmon Court at 8:21 p.m. July 9.
A 15-year-old girl was arrested for underage drinking after her parents reported her missing. Police found her in the 300 block of Chelsea Street at 12:50 a.m. July 8, according to reports.
A 23-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 7:06 p.m. July 9 in the 600 block of Executive Boulevard, reports said.
A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Trotter's Circle at 4:40 p.m. July 9, according to reports.
A business in the first block of North Sandusky Street reported someone stole money from two of its newspaper stands at 8:04 a.m. July 9.
A loaded handgun was discovered inside of a vehicle reported stolen from a rental company in the area of Columbus Pike and Cheshire Road at 4:10 p.m. July 6. Reports said a 42-year-old woman was arrested for improperly handing a firearm in a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.
A 23-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication after he was found at a residence in the 200 block of North Sandusky Street while under the influence of an unknown substance at 10:41 p.m. July 4, according to reports.
An 18-year-old woman was arrested for speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found a glass pipe with residue in her vehicle's glove box during a traffic stop on North Houk Road at 8:07 p.m. July 4, according to reports.
A resident of the first block of Spring Street reported she had been assaulted at 12:35 a.m. July 2. Reports said the mother of the resident's baby-sitter arrived and demanded to see her daughter, then punched the resident before fleeing. A warrant has been issued for the suspect.
Sunbury
A business in the 100 block of state Route 3 reported its gas meter had been broken and the water and electric lines had been tampered with July 9. Sunbury police reports said officers found a large tractor tire had been thrown into it.
A resident of the 300 block of Southworth Drive reported a neighbor was using foul language toward his children July 6, according to reports. The accused neighbor said the children had damaged her SUV. Officers advised the neighbors to contact an attorney regarding the civil issue.
