Student sent to hospital after car hits Delaware school bus

A Delaware City School District student was taken to a hospital Thursday afternoon, Nov. 1, after a car rammed a school bus.

Delaware police said a 31-year-old Marion man drove into the back of a school bus that was stopped at a traffic light at Liberty and London roads. The crash happened at 3:40 p.m.

The driver told police he had been adjusting his car radio.

He was cited for assured distance ahead, police said.

There were 63 people on the bus. An 11-year-old girl was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital as a precaution. Her condition was not released.
