Would-be shoplifter caught with $70 worth of items

A Delaware woman was arrested for shoplifting at about 9:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at a business in the 800 block of Houk Road, Delaware police said.

She was apprehended after she tried to flee the store with about $70 in food and cosmetics, according to reports.

Body armor worth $1,400 was stolen between 11 and 11:45 a.m. Nov. 8 from a residence in the 300 block of Timbersmith Drive, police said

Merchandise worth $500 was stolen at about 11:20 a.m. Nov. 18 from a business in the 1700 block of Columbus Pike, reports said.

The thief took the items and fled out the store's back door without paying, according to police.

Prescription medicine, an underwater camera and a seat cushion were reported stolen between 8 p.m. Nov. 19 and 8:15 a.m. Nov. 20 from a vehicle parked outside a residence in the 200 block of Thornapple Court.

Several bottles of prescription medicine were stolen between 6 p.m. Nov. 18 and 8 a.m. Nov. 19 from a car parked in the 100 block of Richardson Street, police said.

Sheriff's reports

Electronics worth $4,700 were stolen between 6:10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Nov. 14 from a residence in the 5900 block of Wheeler Road in Delaware, according to Delaware County Sheriff's reports.

The thief forced entry and stole two TVs, a cellphone and a laptop computer, reports said.

Electronics worth $2,650 were stolen between 11 a.m. Nov. 9 and 11 a.m. Nov. 10 from a car parked near the 3100 block of Carter's Corner Road in Sunbury, according to reports.

The stolen property includes a camera and a laptop computer, reports said.

Property worth $800 was reported stolen between 4 and 9:58 p.m. Nov. 9 from a car parked in the 700 block of U.S. Route 23 in Delaware.

The thief smashed a driver's-side window to gain entry, with damages estimated at $300, and stole a purse, prescription glasses and $500 in cash, according to reports.

Two TVs, together worth $800, were stolen between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Nov. 8 from a residence in the 100 block of North Three Bs and K Road in Sunbury, reports said.

A laptop computer worth $500 was stolen between 4 p.m. Nov. 9 and 6:54 p.m. Nov. 14 from a residence in the 1300 block of Hanover Road in Delaware, according to reports.

Power tools worth $510 were stolen between 7 p.m. Nov. 10 and 3:52 p.m. Nov. 13 from a shed outside a residence in the 15000 block of Trenton Road in Sunbury, reports said.

The thief forced entry, with damages to the shed estimated at $5,000, and stole a chain saw, cordless drill and angle grinder.

Items worth $325 were stolen between 7 p.m. Nov. 9 and 9:45 a.m. Nov. 10 from a car parked in the 10000 block of state Route 521 in Delaware, reports said. Stolen property includes two radar detectors and a power inverter.
