Boulder, curb damaged in apparent theft attempt

Sunbury

A would-be boulder thief damaged a curb at 9:15 a.m. Nov. 26 outside of a business in the 100 block of state Route 3, Sunbury police said.

A store manager notified police that someone had attempted to take a large rock that sits at the rear of the parking lot, according to reports.

The 400-pound boulder was rolled about 100 yards south of its original location and over a curb, where it was left. Both the rock and the curb were heavily damaged, reports said.

The manager said it's the second time the rock has been moved.

Various jewelry worth about $3,000 was stolen between Oct. 1 and Nov. 25 from a residence in the first block of Birch Row Drive, Delaware police said.

Two suspects were arrested after they were caught shoplifting about $20 in merchandise at 3:40 a.m. Nov. 27 from a store in the 800 block of North Houk Road, police said.

Property worth $870 was stolen between 5 p.m. Nov. 21 and noon Nov. 25 from a residence in the 100 block of North Union Street, police said.

The victim said someone broke in and stole jewelry, a trash can and about $200 in cash.

A desktop computer worth $600 was stolen at about 10 p.m. Nov. 25 from a business in the first block of London Road, reports said.

Property worth $530 was stolen between 8 p.m. Nov. 21 and 1 p.m. Nov. 25 from a residence in the 200 block of Park Avenue, police said.

The victim said someone broke in and stole a video-game console with accessories and multiple games.

A bicycle worth $500 was stolen between noon Nov. 16 and 1 p.m. Nov. 27 from where it was left outside a residence in the first block of Rowland Avenue, police said.

Sheriff's reports

Electronics worth $4,700 were stolen between 6:10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Nov. 14 from a residence in the 5900 block of Wheeler Road, according to Delaware County Sheriff's reports.

An unknown thief took two TVs, a cellphone and a laptop computer, according to reports.

A laptop computer worth $500 was reported stolen between 4 p.m. Nov. 9 and 7 p.m. Nov. 14 from a car parked in the 1300 block of Hanover Road.

Property worth $411 was stolen between 8 a.m. Nov. 12 and 9:44 a.m. Nov. 14 from a vehicle parked in the 4900 block of Blue Church Road, reports said.

Stolen items include an MP3 player, a GPS device and an FM radio converter, according to reports.

A log splitter worth $350 was stolen between 1:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. Oct. 27 from outside a residence in the 1200 block of Berlin Station Road, reports said.

An MP3 player worth $250 was stolen between 3 and 4 p.m. Nov. 19 from a car parked outside a residence in the 3400 block of U.S. Route 23, according to reports.

A GPS device worth $200 was reported stolen between 9 p.m. Nov. 19 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 20 from a car parked outside a residence in the 1800 block of Primrose Avenue.
