YMCA thief steals keys, uses them to enter car

Property worth $178 was stolen between 7:45 and 8:45 p.m. Dec. 3 from a vehicle parked outside the Delaware Community Center YMCA, 1121 S. Houk Road, police said.

The victim reported someone removed his car keys from his gym locker, then used the keys to enter his vehicle and take his cellphone and a pack of cigarettes.

Jewelry worth about $3,000 was stolen sometime between Oct. 1 and Nov. 25 from a residence in the first block of Birch Row Drive, police said.

Two suspects were arrested after they were caught stealing roughly $20 in merchandise at 3:15 a.m. Nov. 27 from a business in the 800 block of North Houk Road, police said.

A Delaware man was apprehended and charged with theft after he was caught stealing candy at about 11:50 p.m. Dec. 3 from a business in the 100 block of West William Street, police said.

A Delaware man reported someone damaged his vehicle between 9 p.m. Nov. 30 and 3 p.m. Dec. 1 while it was parked near the first block of South Liberty Street.

A car stereo was reported stolen between 6 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2:04 p.m. Dec. 2 from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Fairway Road.

A Delaware man reported three large pieces of galvanized metal gutter, together worth about $50, were stolen between 1:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Dec. 3 from outside a residence in the first block of Bernard Avenue, police said.

Sheriff's reports

Property worth about $5,300 was stolen between 7 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 26 from a residence in the 4600 block of Horseshoe Road in Delaware, according to Delaware County Sheriff's reports.

The victim reported someone broke in to the home, with damages to the front door estimated at $1,500, then stole a TV and a collection of DVDs.

Four rifles, together worth $2,925, were stolen between 10 p.m. Nov. 25 and 7 a.m. Nov. 26 from a residence in the 7300 block of state Route 37 in Sunbury, reports said.

Tools and equipment worth $1,495 was stolen between noon Nov. 12 and 10:30 a.m. Nov. 24 from a residence in the 200 block of Monterey Place in Delaware, according to reports.

Stolen items include a chain saw, a weed trimmer, jack stands and a leaf blower, reports said.

A chain saw worth $910 was stolen between 9 a.m. Nov. 17 and 4:10 p.m. Nov. 30 from a residence in the first block of Dent Road in Sunbury, reports said.

A gold pendant necklace worth $900 was reported stolen between 9 a.m. Nov. 19 and 8 a.m. Nov. 25 from a residence in the 2200 block of state Route 521 in Sunbury.

Property worth $800 was stolen between 6 p.m. Nov. 22 and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 23 from a car parked in the 2000 block of Bunty Station Road in Delaware, according to re-ports.

Stolen items include a camera, a cellphone, a purse and a jacket, reports said.

A laptop computer worth $400 reportedly was stolen between 4 p.m. Nov. 21 and 4 p.m. Nov. 29 from a residence in the 4500 block of Columbus Pike in Delaware.
