Juveniles caught by police, charged with theft
Delaware police officers responded to reports of a theft in progress at 1:36 a.m. Feb. 2 in the 100 block of West William Street.
According to reports, two juveniles were discovered at the scene, arrested and charged with theft and breaking curfew, then released to their parents.
A 28-year-old Delaware man was arrested for theft at 12:45 a.m. Feb. 5 at a business in the same block, police said.
A business owner said someone threw a bottle inside his store, damaging merchandise, at 5:40 p.m. Feb. 4 in the first block of East William Street.
Someone threw eggs at several parked vehicles between 11 p.m. Feb. 1 and 1:20 a.m. Feb. 2 in the 200 block of Stonhope Drive and the 2200 block of Farmland Drive, police said.
A Delaware man said someone entered a garden shed and stole property between 10 a.m. Feb. 1 and 9 a.m. Feb. 3 at his residence in the 200 block of Rock Creek Drive.
An officer responded to a report of criminal damaging at 5 p.m. Feb. 1 at a residence in the 200 block of South Liberty Street, police said.
The victim reported a previous roommate entered and knocked over a TV stand, causing a china music box and two candleholders to break.
Tools were stolen between 4 p.m. Jan. 25 and 2 p.m. Jan. 30 from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Lake Street, police said.
A Sunbury resident's vehicle was stolen between 5 and 7:55 a.m. Jan. 22 from where it was parked in the 9100 block of Twigg-Hupp Road, according to Delaware County Sheriff's reports.
A semiautomatic shotgun and an electric heater, together worth $950, were stolen between 3 p.m. Jan. 15 and 10 a.m. Jan. 29 from a residence in the 6800 block of Kilbourne Road in Sunbury, reports said.
A Delaware man said someone damaged a door during a break-in between 6 p.m. Jan. 22 and 10 a.m. Jan. 23 at his residence in the 4000 block of state Route 27 in Delaware.
Chopped firewood worth $800 was reported stolen between midnight Jan. 17 and 11:57 a.m. Jan. 21 from a residence in the 3800 block of Horseshoe Road in Delaware.
Fifty gallons of diesel fuel valued at $205 was stolen between 6 p.m. Jan. 28 and 7:30 a.m. Jan. 29 from a business in the 200 block of Curtis Street in Delaware, sheriff's reports said.
A semiautomatic rifle worth $130 was stolen between Dec. 1 and Jan. 30 from a residence in the first block of Homestead Lane in Delaware, reports said.
An officer responded to a burglar alarm at 8:25 a.m. Jan. 31 at a residence in the 2500 block of Berlin Station to find a garage door damaged but no sign of a suspect, according to reports.
