Register in advance for the following activities:

•"Monarchs & Milkweed," 1 p.m., Saturday, April 13. Ages 10 and up. Learn how to care for butterflies and how to build a collection tank. After the program, participants can reserve a monarch kit for their child's (or students') school. The kits contain everything needed to explore the life of a Monarch butterfly. Free, but registration is required by April 6. Deer Haven Preserve, 4183 Liberty Road.

No registration needed for these activities:

•"Bunny Weekend," 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 24. Ages 5 and up. Play bunny bingo and "hop" - scotch (weather dependent), and create a bunny craft. Learn how wild rabbits and pet rabbits differ, and meet some domestic bunnies. Deer Haven Preserve, 4183 Liberty Road.

•Golden Marathon, 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 25. Hike for older adults. Deer Haven Preserve, 4183 Liberty Road. (Alternate location: Polaris Fashion Place Food Court, 1500 Polaris Parkway, if predicted high temperature is lower than 40 degrees.)

•Seasonal Tyke Hike, 1 p.m., Saturday, March 30. For ages 2-5 and their families. Join the naturalist for a seasonal story followed by a short hike. Emily Traphagen Preserve, 5094 Seldom Seen Road.

•"Wonders of Wool," 2 p.m., Sunday, March 31. All ages. Learn what makes wool such a versatile fiber and try carding and felting. All ages. Gallant Farm Preserve, 2150 Buttermilk Hill Road.

•Golden Marathon, 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 1. Hike for older adults. Deer Haven Preserve, 4183 Liberty Road.
