Jeff Long, an Ohio Wesleyan University graduate and vice chancellor and director of athletics for the University of Arkansas, will speak at OWU on Wednesday, April 3.

Jeff Long, an Ohio Wesleyan University graduate and vice chancellor and director of athletics for the University of Arkansas, will speak at OWU on Wednesday, April 3.

The 7:30 p.m. program will be in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center's Benes Rooms, 40 Rowland Ave., Delaware. Long will discuss the "Role of Ethics in Leadership and Decision Making."

A native of Kettering, Long played football and baseball for OWU. He earned seven varsity letters before graduating in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in economics. He earned a master's degree in education in 1983 at Miami University in Ohio.

Long has worked in athletic administration for more than 20 years, including positions at the University of Oklahoma, the University of Michigan, Virginia Tech University, Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Pittsburgh. He came to the University of Arkansas in 2007 and is credited with reorganizing and streamlining the school's athletic program.

Long's presentation is OWU's 2013 Heisler Business Ethics Lecture. The annual program is funded by the Heisler Family Endowment for the Study of Ethics. The endowment honors OWU graduates James Heisler, class of 1938; Robert Heisler, class of 1942; and Bruce Heisler, class of 1949.
