Gunman enters David Street home, steals items

Three Delaware men were confronted by an armed burglar about 10 p.m. March 17 inside their home in the first block of David Street, Delaware police said.

The victims reported an unidentified suspect carrying a handgun entered the residence through the front door and stole unspecified property.

No suspects were identified and the case remained open at the time of the report.

In other recent Delaware police reports:

• A Delaware resident said someone broke into her home in the first block of Willow Brook Way and stole unspecified family heirlooms between 1 p.m. Dec. 28 and 4:50 p.m. March 17.

• A vehicle’s window was smashed between 8:55 and 9:40 a.m. March 13 while the vehicle was parked in the 400 block of West Central Avenue, police said.

• A vehicle’s passenger-side window was smashed between 9:30 p.m. March 11 and 2:30 p.m. March 12 while the vehicle was parked in the 100 block of Hancock Street, according to reports.

• Prescription medicine was reported stolen between 6 p.m. March 11 and 2 p.m. March 12 from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Somerset Road.

• A Delaware woman residing in the 600 block of Durham Lane reported someone used her personal information to make fraudulent purchases totaling $3,100 between midnight and 11:59 p.m. March 17.

 

Sheriff’s reports

Unspecified military-issued equipment valued at $10,000 was stolen between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. March 13 from a residence in the 1700 block of Home Road in Delaware, according to Delaware County Sheriff’s reports.

In other recent sheriff’s reports:

• Electronics worth $600 were stolen between 1:55 and 2:04 p.m. March 7 from a vehicle parked in the 7700 block of state Route 37 East in Sunbury, reports said.

The victim reported someone smashed a window to gain entry and stole an MP3 player and a cellphone.

Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $500.

• A vehicle’s passenger-side window was smashed between 9 a.m. and 12:07 p.m. March 15 while the vehicle was parked in the 2200 block of Africa Road, reports said.

Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $525.

• A Galena resident reported someone damaged the exterior of his home between 2:24 and 4:20 p.m. March 16 in the 3800 block of Miller-Paul Road.
