Ohio Machine, mascots to invade downtown

Monday April 1, 2013 3:41 PM

Mascot Madness will erupt April 5, at William and Sandusky streets in Delaware.

Main Street Delaware invites the community to the First Friday pep rally that will launch the Ohio Machine's 2013 Major League Lacrosse season. The patio on the southwest corner of the intersection will be the heart of the event, and South Sandusky Street will be closed.

Ohio Machine lacrosse players will be on hand, information about the sport will be available and those who attend will have the chance to pick up some official Machine gear.

In addition to the 'Machine-ery,' "Mascot Madness" also will invade Delaware's downtown. Mascots of all stripes and types will mingle with the crowd in what has become an April First Friday tradition.

The Ohio Machine will play seven home games in Ohio Wesleyan University's Selby Stadium from May through August. For more information about the team and the league, visit theohiomachine.com. For information about Main Street activities, call 740-362-6050 or visit mainstreetdelaware@yahoo.com.
