Weekend sees four cars damaged by vandals

Several Delaware residents found their cars vandalized last weekend.

A Delaware man reported someone slashed a tire on his vehicle between 7 p.m. March 23 and 7 a.m. March 24 while it was parked in the driveway outside his residence in the first block of South Liberty Street.

A vehicle was scratched with a key between 8 and 8:30 p.m. March 23 while it was parked outside Schultz Elementary School, 499 Applegate Lane, Delaware police said.

A car windshield was shattered between 9 and 9:30 p.m. March 23 while the vehicle was parked in the 200 block of East Winter Street, according to reports.

Finally, a Delaware woman reported someone shattered the windshield of her vehicle at 6:48 p.m. March 24 while it was parked in the 100 block of East Winter Street.

In other recent Delaware police reports:

* A Delaware man reported he was assaulted by an unidentified suspect about 6:45 a.m. March 22 outside his residence in the 200 block of East Winter Street.

* Two televisions were stolen between 4 p.m. March 23 and 6:30 p.m. March 26 from a residence in the first block of High Street, police said.

The victim said an unknown person entered her home while she was away and took the property.

* Property worth $195 was stolen between 8 a.m. March 17 and 10 a.m. March 26 from the yard of a residence in the 200 block of South Henry Street, police said.

The victim said someone entered her property and stole a picnic table, snow shovel and storm-window frame.

* Two license plates were stolen from inside a vehicle between March 19 and 23 while it was parked outside a residence in the first block of Fieldcrest Drive, police said.

The victim said someone forced entry into the vehicle and stole the plates.

* Loose change and a gift card were stolen between 10:30 p.m. March 22 and 11:10 a.m. March 23 from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Griswold Street, police said.

* A yard sign was damaged between 11 p.m. March 24 and 6 p.m. March 25 outside a residence in the 500 block of Taft Court, police said.

* A bicycle worth $450 was stolen between 11:14 a.m. and 4 p.m. March 24 while it was parked at a bike rack outside a business in the 200 block of West William Street, police said.

* A Delaware police officer responded to a report of a large dog on the loose at 3:25 p.m. March 22 in the area of Greenlawn Drive and Houk Road.

The dog was located and detained by the Delaware County dog warden, reports said.
