The Big Walnut Area Historical Society will host its fourth annual Mother Daughter Tea at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Myers Inn Museum in Sunbury.
Mothers and daughters of all ages are invited to dress up and join Harriet Merriman for high tea in a historic setting. Staff members will be in costume to add to the ambiance. Tea will be served in three courses, including homemade savories, scones and sweets. Merriman will portray a woman experiencing the floods of 1913, a disaster that devastated much of Delaware city's east side and Columbus 100 years ago.
Admission to the tea is $15 per person. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. Call Janet at 740-965-2369. Proceeds from the tea help to support the Myers Inn Museum. The museum is on the corner of Granville and South Columbus streets, facing the southwest corner of the Sunbury square. Museum hours are noon to 3 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is by donation.
