New roundabout will straddle county line

The construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Smothers and Harlem roads in Delaware and Franklin counties is set to begin Wednesday, June 26, and last until November, weather permitting.

The reconfiguration will include the construction of a single-lane roundabout at the intersection, according to the Franklin County Engineer's Office. Roadway improvements will be limited to the immediate area of the intersection.

The intersection will be closed for construction on or about June 26 for around 90 days. Detour signs will be posted.

The $3 million project is funded by the Ohio Public Works Commission and the two counties.
