The Delaware Fire Department will fill downtown Delaware with firefighting equipment, a working fire exhibit, fire-extinguisher target practice and a flash mob dance to promote fire safety during Main Street Delaware's October First Friday.

The Delaware Fire Department will fill downtown Delaware with firefighting equipment, a working fire exhibit, fire-extinguisher target practice and a flash mob dance to promote fire safety during Main Street Delaware's October First Friday.

Then Friday, Oct. 4, celebration also will feature live music and extended shopping and dining hours. Sandusky Street will be closed south of William Street to Spring Street to allow the fire department to set up equipment and interactive displays.

First Friday hours are 6 to 9 p.m. November's celebration, on Friday, Nov. 1, is sponsored by the Delaware County District Library. On Dec. 6, the downtown Christmas tree will be lighted, carolers will sing and horse-drawn carriage rides will be offered.
