A drug round-up orchestrated by the Delaware County Drug Task Force netted 29 arrests last weekend.
A Delaware County grand jury returned 36 drug indictments that gave the force the green-light to arrest 29 men and women whom the department called mid-level drug dealers and users.
Charges against those arrested include possession of drugs, trafficking drugs and furnishing a controlled substance to a minor. Reports show many of those arrested were selling opiates, mostly heroin.
"As successful as these efforts were, we are still looking for some known drug dealers and users and need to bring them to justice," Delaware County Sheriff Russ Martin said in a prepared statement. "It takes months of investigative work and numerous partnerships to have such a positive impact in our community. But we know our work is far from over."
Along with the Delaware County sheriff's and prosecutor's offices, police officers from Delaware, Westerville, Powell, Worthington, Sunbury and Genoa Township are members of the task force.
