OWU appoints new communications chief

Ohio Wesleyan University has announced the appointment of Will Kopp as its chief communications officer.

Kopp, who most recently served as vice president of marketing and communications at Columbus State Community College, will lead a seven-member team of marketing and media professionals. According to a news release from OWU, he also will be a key adviser to OWU President Rock Jones, senior officers and other university stakeholders.

Before joining CSCC in 2004, Kopp was a speechwriter for the Ohio State University and was manager of corporate marketing and executive communications for Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus.

Kopp, whose programs and campaigns at CSCC won national awards, has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University and a master's degree in English from OSU. He and his wife, Sue, live in Westerville, where he serves as a board member for the Westerville Symphony.
