OWU fraternity to host magic show fundraiser

The Ohio Wesleyan University fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon will host two performances of a magic show at Delaware's Strand Theatre to honor member and former chapter president Jacob VonDerVellon, who was a sophomore when he was killed in an automobile accident in South Carolina.

"Magic Changing Lives: A Night of Magic and Illusion featuring Bill Boaz" will be staged at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1 at the Strand, 28 E. Winter St., Delaware. Tickets are $5, and all proceeds will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.

The fraternity hopes to make the occasion an annual event. According to a news release, VonDerVellon was focused on charity work and was a Big Brother in the local Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
