Delaware patrol post investigates fatal accident

A northeast Ohio man died after a one-vehicle crash Sunday morning, March 30, in Berkshire Township.

Stefan Borbei, 63, of Struthers, was driving a semitrailer north on Interstate 71 south of U.S. Route 36 when his vehicle left the road and hit multiple trees, according to the Delaware post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Emergency responders pronounced Borbei dead at the scene of the crash, reports said.

He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and investigators do not think alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the patrol.

The Berkshire, Galena, Sunbury and Trenton fire departments responded to the scene of the crash.
