Ohio Wesleyan student released from hospital after stabbing

An Ohio Wesleyan University student has been released from the hospital after he was stabbed over the weekend, according to Delaware police.

Police Capt. Adam Moore said the department is still investigating the stabbing, which occurred about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at a residence in the 200 block of North Franklin Street. Police have interviewed a person of interest in the case, but no arrests have been made, Moore said.

The victim was flown by medical helicopter shortly after the attack to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. By Monday morning, May 5, he had been released, police said.

Moore said he could not comment on whether the assailant was suspected of breaking into the residence.

He said police did not believe a party was being held at the residence when the incident occurred.

Officials have asked anyone with information regarding the incident to call Delaware police at 740-203-1111.
