The group Harlem Township Heritage will for the fourth year sponsor the July 5 Duncan's Run Bicycle Patch Ride through the area countryside.
The ride this year begins and ends at the John Beltz Retreat, 4834 Harlem Road (north of Center Village Road and south of Woodtown Road).
To register before ride day, download a form from the Harlem Township website, harlemtwp.com. Forms also may be picked up at local bicycle shops.
Registration begins at 7 and ends at 9 a.m. on the day of the ride. The fee for entries received by July 4, is $25; day-of-ride registration is $30. Riders also may register through active.com, with an additional $3.25 processing fee. Children age 10 and younger who ride with their parents may participate for free.
The first 100 registered riders will receive commemorative patches.
Lunch, included in the registration fee, will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Beltz Retreat by the Glass Rooster Cannery. A rest stop is scheduled at the Condit Presbyterian Church; another rest stop, for the long route, will be at the Branstool Orchard, north of Utica. Routes will be marked and maps will be provided to riders with 15-, 30- and 62-mile options.
All profits from the ride will support the free Harlem Township Days community celebration, set for Aug. 16 and 17, in Center Village's Community Park. Harlem Township Heritage is a 501 (c) (3) organization that provides activities, education and preservation projects for the Harlem Township community.
