* The Board of Delaware County Commissioners has announced plans to appoint a resident of the Concord-Scioto area to fill an unexpired term on the seven-member Concord-Scioto Community Authority Board of Trustees.
The board facilitates the financing of specific infrastructure improvements benefiting property owners within the authority's boundaries. The board also is responsible for overseeing the financing of the infrastructure and improvements and for providing for the levy and collection of the community development charge within the Authority.
Interested individuals may pick up an application at the Delaware County Commissioners Office, 101 N. Sandusky St., Delaware, or an application may be printed from the Delaware County website, co.delaware.oh.us.
Completed applications should be returned to the commissioners' office no later than 5 p.m. July 25.
* The commissioners also have announced plans to appoint a resident to complete the unexpired term of a Delaware County Transit Board member. The term ends Oct. 24, 2014.
The seven-member board provides governance for Delaware County's public transit system commonly known as the Delaware Area Transit Agency or DATA Bus. Appointments are made for three-year terms. Qualified applicants must be electors of Delaware County. The board meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month.
Ohio law states: "No more than four members of the board shall belong to the same political party." The current transit board membership includes three Republicans.
