Friends of the Delaware County District Library, a nonprofit that serves the library's needs, will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year.

Friends of the Delaware County District Library, a nonprofit that serves the library's needs, will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year.

The organization will hold presentations, share birthday treats and recruit members and volunteers at various library programs. The celebration will last throughout 2017, culminating at the group's annual meeting Nov. 2 at the Main Library, 84 E. Winter St.

The group also recently received a $6,000 grant from the Robert F. Beard Foundation to host an appearance by children's author Troy Cummings.

Cummings is best known for his "Notebook of Doom" series. Details of his visit have not yet been finalized.
