Four Big Walnut High School seniors signed letters of intent Feb. 1 to continue their football careers at the college level.

Trent Fielding, a 6-foot-2, 270-pound offensive and defensive lineman, is heading to Urbana. Corey Gibson, a place-kicker, is going to Ohio Dominican, and Jason Griffith, a 6-2, 270-pound defensive lineman, and Tyler McKenzie, a 6-1, 255-pound offensive lineman, are heading to Notre Dame College in South Euclid. All three schools are in Division II.

Last season, Urbana finished 8-3, ODU went 7-4 and Notre Dame College finished 5-6.

Big Walnut went 9-3 overall last season, advancing to a Division II, Region 7 semifinal before losing to Marion-Franklin 44-17 on Nov. 11. The Golden Eagles shared the OCC-Capital Division championship with New Albany and Olentangy Orange, as all three teams went 6-1 in league play.

Fielding and Griffith, who had 57 tackles, were first-team all-league and all-district. Gibson made all eight field-goal attempts and 43 of 44 extra-point attempts and was second-team all-district and all-league, and McKenzie was special mention all-league.
