The Dublin Convention and Visitors Bureau has launched an e-newsletter for the Dublin travel tourism industry.

Destin@tion Dublin is geared toward anyone that has a vested interest in travel and tourism dollars coming into the community, said Scott Dring, CVB executive director.

"It's not stuff you'd read from typical news outlets," Dring said. "We want to give people access to information they may not normally have."

Dring sent the first e-newsletter to more than 200 people last week. Topics included a new restaurant coming to town, how the economic market is affecting corporate meeting space reservations and the increase of youth sports travel.

"It will include things like that that would be helpful to the local tourism industry as they try to compete for business in the next year," Dring said.

Future e-newsletter topics include new infrastructure, events that businesses need to prepare for and local and regional travel trends.

There's no set schedule for the e-newsletter.

"It depends on the volume of information we have," Dring said. "We could send it twice a week or once every month. It's just another way to communicate with the local industry."

To sign up for the e-newsletter, send an e-mail to info@irishisanattitude.com.
