Longtime city of Dublin volunteer Tom Sevitz was recently named grand leprechaun of the St. Patrick's Day parade, which begins at 11 a.m. March 14. Sevitz will lead the parade and judge the float-decorating contest. According to a release from the city, Sevitz moved to Dublin in the 1990s and has volunteered at the Irish Festival, St. Patrick's Day celebration, Independence Day celebration and Halloween Spooktacular since 2001.

Sevitz has been board president, membership chair and bocce ball team coach for the Dublin Community Senior Citizens. He also has served on Dublin's Green Team and is a senior council member for Dublin City Schools.

City Manager Terry Foegler will deliver his first State of the City address Monday, March 2, at the Dublin Community Recreation Center, 5600 Post Road. A welcome reception for Foegler will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the community hall at the rec center. Foegler will speak at 6 p.m. in the Abbey Theater and take questions after the address.

City council will hold its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m.
